NdFeB Countersunk Magnets

Disc and block NdFeB magnets with countersunk mounting holes for mechanical screw attachment in fixtures, enclosures, and mechanical assemblies.

About Countersunk Magnets

Countersunk magnets incorporate a mounting hole with a tapered countersink, allowing flush screw attachment directly to a ferromagnetic or non-ferromagnetic substrate. The configuration is widely used in mechanical fixtures, door closures, enclosure latches, tool holding systems, and industrial equipment where magnets must be securely retained by mechanical fasteners in addition to their magnetic attachment.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Can the screw head be recessed below the magnet surface?

+

Yes — countersink depth is specified to place the screw head either flush with or recessed below the magnet's working face. For applications where the magnet surface must contact the mating surface directly (no screw-head interference), the countersink is cut deep enough to fully recess the screw head.

Are the screws magnetized along with the magnet?

+

The screws provided with countersunk magnets are typically zinc or nickel-plated steel, and they become magnetized through contact with the magnet. This is normal and does not affect function. If your application requires non-magnetic fasteners, we can ship stainless steel (austenitic 316) or brass screws that remain non-magnetic when in contact with NdFeB.
