About Block Magnets
Block magnets are rectangular sintered NdFeB with three principal dimensions — length, width, and thickness. The shape is fundamental for linear motor primaries, wind turbine generator rotor blocks, magnetic separator arrays, and any large-scale permanent-magnet assembly. Block production supports the largest NdFeB magnet sizes commercially available, with axial magnetization through thickness being the most common specification.
Production Capability
- •Length: up to 200mm
- •Width: up to 150mm
- •Thickness: up to 50mm
- •Single-piece blocks or stacked assemblies for larger effective sizes
- •Magnetization through thickness (most common), length, or width
- •Full grade range including GBD-processed high-temp for wind and EV
Typical Use Cases
- •Linear motor primary magnets
- •Wind turbine generator rotor blocks
- •Magnetic separators for mining and recycling
- •Halbach array assemblies
- •MRI field blocks
- •Magnetic levitation demonstration assemblies

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the largest NdFeB block magnet you can produce?
+
Standard single-piece production extends to approximately 200×150×50mm. Larger effective sizes are achieved through bonded or adhesive-stacked assemblies of multiple blocks — common in large wind turbine generators and MRI assemblies. For very large format requirements, we evaluate the correct balance of single-piece complexity versus assembly production cost.
What grade is best for wind turbine block magnets?
+
N42SH or N45SH for onshore direct-drive generators; N42UH for offshore and premium designs. The SH or UH coercivity is required for 100–130°C operating temperature and the long service life (20–30 years) of wind turbine applications. Triple NiCuNi plus epoxy coating is standard for corrosion protection in the offshore environment.
