N52 is a very high-energy standard grade near the top of the commercial NdFeB range. It exists for applications where magnet volume is the dominant design constraint and operating temperatures are low. Commonly over-specified, many buyers would be better served by a GBD-processed N48SH that offers similar package performance with vastly better thermal margin.
